Welcome to the Online ColdFusion Meetup Group, hosted by veteran ColdFusion developer and troubleshooter, Charlie Arehart.
The ColdFusion Meetup is an online ColdFusion user group. Indeed, it's an officially recognized Adobe User Group and the world's largest CFUG. Sessions are presented online using Adobe Acrobat Connect (formerly Breeze) and anyone may attend and view both the live event and the available recordings.
Whether discussing the latest in CF features and techniques, or reviewing fundamentals and aspects of technology related to ColdFusion development, we hope to make the Online ColdFusion Meetup a place that CF developers continue to find great information to make their jobs better and their careers more satisfying. The CF community is known for a high degree of sharing, with many developers out there who love to share their knowledge and experience.
Being an online group, we hope to share that wealth with the possibly vast audience of CFML developers who may not t have ready access to a local user group. Of course, members of other user groups are welcome to join this group as well, as indeed may anyone.

Supporting the Meetup
The URL for the group, if you want to share it, can be more easily remembered as http://www.coldfusion.... The group tries to meet regularly, at least monthly (and sometimes weekly, as speaker availability permits).
If you'd like to speak at the meetup, please see this blog entry which offers more details.
If you'd like to suggest a topic or potential speaker, please contact Charlie. Finally, if you have any thoughts or ideas for continuing to improve the group, please do share them either by email to Charlie, or in the forum if you'd like to have a group discussion.
Background: The CF meetup was started in 2004 by Steven Erat of Adobe. In March 2007, he needed to step down from running the group, citing work pressures, and he handed the reigns to Charlie Arehart and Raymond Camden, two long-time contributors to the community. Their goal was to rekindle and carry on the tradition of finding the best in online CF presentations from developers around the world. As of late 2007, Ray has stepped into a role of backup host (and occasional speaker). He's busy helping the community in so many other ways, and we certainly thank him for all he's done!
